Fun Times & Great Weather

We have been having some really fun times lately. A few weeks ago we went to the Nostalgia Drags in Bakersfield, CA. Had so much fun watching all the old style cars.

Then the week after that we went to the King of the Cage fights at the Avi Casino. Several guys that we know fought and all but one of them won! YAY!

Then this last weekend we went with a bunch of friends on our motorcycles to Wickenburg, AZ. The weather was great all weekend. What a great time! We stopped at a few antique stores. Thought I would show you what I got. I was so excited with what I found!

This gown is just so pretty!! I really fell in love with it. The lace is absolutely gorgeous! And it is in nearly perfect condition. And the best part is --- it fits me perfect! Well, it's a little long, but everything usually is on me. It is cut on the bias and was obviously hand made.

And I got this cute little sewing basket filled with someone's crochet lace tablecloth project in it with the original pattern and the thread. Needless to say, I fell in love again!!
Th only bad thing is, I am not a very good crocheter. So I started sewing together what squares there are done. It won't be very big, but big enough for a small end table or so. Who knows -- maybe i'll work on my crochet skills and try to finish it someday.

This sewing box was so cool, but belonged to the owner of the store, so I could only drool over it! She did give me permission to take some pics of it. I had never seen one like it before. It has a handle on the top and latches on the side. I think I am gonna talk my husband into building me one. I know it won't be the same as a vintage one, but still pretty cool.

These are some little baby tees that I added some trim to for a baby shower for my friend. I have to get busy and get something else made for her, her shower is just around the corner!
